K&K Bowling Services opens new shop in Kingman,AZ

Filed under: Bowling news — Phil @ 8:35 am

November 9th,2007, K&K opens new Pro Shop in Kingman,AZ. We will be in Cerbat Lanes. This shop will be ran by Chuck Mogavero, we will have posted hours 7 days a week.

We have spoke to several people from Kingman who come to our Vegas store for new balls, lessons, ect. and they asked us to open a store in Kingman!! After doing our research, with the help of Chuck, Perry Platko (a 10yr resident of Kingman) the shop became available in Cerbat Lanes, Ken and I jumped on the opportunity!!

This will be a great experience for us working in a bowling center (both of our stores now are free standing), this will bring allot of different challenges to myself and Ken. Our pricing structure, ball sales, bag, shoes, lessons, shirts and embroidery operation will look and be the exact same to start. This will be a smaller scale of K&K Bowling Services Las Vegas.

There are several very good bowlers in the Kingman, Laughlin, Lake Havasu, and Bullhead City areas. We look forward to being able to bring our services to the area!!

What makes a Pro Shop Great!!!

Filed under: Bowling news — Phil @ 12:07 pm

What makes a Pro Shop Great?

Ken and I have been doing a little traveling in different States. We went into several Bowling Centers and Pro Shops. We went into 5 shops; this is what we did see.

-We were never greeted when we walked into the shops

-Totally blown away by how dirty the shops were

-The merchandise was not priced or labeled correctly

-The bowling balls, bags, shoes were last years inventory

-3of 5 shops opened 25minutes to 45minutes late (after posted work hrs)

The bottom line is several bowling pro shops are ran by bowlers not business people. I’m not saying there are not great people (pro shop owners/bowlers) in this industry but 50% of them (Pro shop owners/Bowlers) don’t care or don’t have a clue to what they are doing!!

“I threw a double so I opened a pro shop

What makes a Pro Shop Great?

The customers!!!

K&K would like to thank all of you for making us who we are..

Orleans Hotel and Casino - TAT (true amatuer tourny)making friends!!

Filed under: Bowling Tournaments, Bowling news — Phil @ 7:13 pm

Would like to congratulate the TAT and the Orleans Hotel and Casino (Mike Monyak) for a job well done!! The TAT owner Ed McWilliams and Harold Mountain and staff did a great job running this growing mega buck tournament!! From all reports the Orleans and the TAT tournament group were very happy with the turnout. As a free standing Pro Shop here in Las Vegas we get lots of over flow business from the tournaments. Along with that we get to here the normal bitching that scratch bowlers do. Well, K&K bowling are glad to report that we had not one bowler complain about the TAT or the Orleans!! I think that the relationship with Mike Monyak (Bowling Operations Mgr) and Ed McWilliams (TAT) will be a great one and it will only benefit us the bowler!!

Weekend Bowling back in Vegas

Filed under: Bowling news — Phil @ 7:20 pm

With ABT (Amateur Bowlers tour) and Harold Mountains HAT and or his Scratch tournaments, there is something to bowl in Las Vegas.

The ABT tournament club is a Handicap tournament club start at 140 to 220 average. Bobby and his mom (Donna) with the help of there right hand man Randy Parker are doing a great job with this club. High pay outs and several on site tournament specials make this club great for every level bowler!!

Harold Mountain and his right hand person Brenda Blanda run the largest scratch tournaments in town.

He also has a Handicap tournament club called the HAT. The bi-weekly scratch 5 gamer tournament is held at the South Point Hotel and Casino. To see what Harold and Brenda have coming up go to-

HAT director sends out e-mail to his tournament club bowlers

Filed under: Bowling news — Phil @ 11:59 am

Below is an e-mail from Harold Mountain to the local Las Vegas bowlers….

(Harold Mountain)I am going to say this only because i believe if its good for the bowlers thats all that matters. I had to go by K&K bowling services because Joel Reynoso drills my equipment and he started working there  a few months ago. This is the first time in years i have been there. Joel gave me a tour of the facilities and i was very impressed. Their setup is amazing and is really far and above anything i have seen in this town in along time. There is a training facility with the EBONITE bowlers map setup on  a stub lane with a working ball return. There they can video you and analyize your game or give you lessons. There is an impressive lobby with couches for seminairs with the pros when they are in town. The drilling area is second to none with 3 drill presses so your wait time is minimal. They stock a vast amout of bowling equipment and from what i have seen when i was there they go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. They also now do embroidery on shirts. This is a first class, very clean 1 stop experience for all bowlers. If you get the chance i strongly suggest you stop by and see this impressive setup for yourself.
